About Marco

Republican legislator Marco Erickson is a local mental health professional whose specialty is working with “at risk” youth or “Youth of Promise.” in the areas of suicide prevention, drug and alcohol addiction, etc.

He previously managed a large bureau within a public health division of the State Government, working with mental health, substance abuse, school districts, Medicaid, suicide prevention, and other human service-based projects. This taught him the inner workings of state and local governments and made him poised to serve on the Local Government Committee in the Legislature.

His entire life has been devoted to public service since elementary school.  Last year, he was involved in many community service projects with local teenagers to impact Idaho Falls healthily.

Marco serves on the Board of Directors for Community Suicide Prevention, Region 7 Juvenile Justice Council, and many other local and State of Idaho-based nonprofits serving youth.

Marco is a small business owner, resident of Idaho Falls’ Westside, and holds a M.S. in Psychology from Walden University.

He and his wife, Emily, have five children, 4 boys and one daughter.

In his spare time, he loves to perform music and write.
